I am a Post Graduate Agricultural Engineer from College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology (CAET) under Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology(OUAT), Bhubaneswar.I completed my schooling from Class-1 to 11 from Utkal University High School,Bani Bihar, Bhubaneswar in the year 1977 then Intermediate Science (ISc) from BJB College, Bhubaneswar in the year1979.I completed my B.Sc(Ag Engg &Tech) from CAET in 1983 & M.Tech in Farm Machinery & Power(FMP) in the year 1992 being a sponsored candidate of Odisha Government.My PG project was Development of a Power Tiller operated Groundnut seed cum fertilizer drill which was published in an international magazine- Agricultural Mechanization in Asia, Africa & Latin America a global Magazine. I started my career as Junior Engineer under Directorate of Agriculture in the tribal District of Sundargarh on 01.08.1983.My duty was to demonstrate,popularise,promote & sell manual,animal drawn Agricultural Implements,Machines such as Tractors,Power Tillers, Rotavators,Combines,Reapers & self propelled rice transplanters,Axial flow threshers etc. After post graduation, I joined Implement Factory presently renamed as Odisha Farm Machinery Research & Development Center(OFMRDC).There I developed manually operated two / three row multi crop seed cum fertilizer drill & Animal drawn four row multi crop seed cum fertizer drill,Power tiller operated multi crop thresher cum winnower,Electric Motor or Fuel Engine operated multi crop thresher cum winnower,Motor operated Groundnut Decorticator etc.In the year 2000, I was transferred to CAD Division,Berhampur under Water Resources Department & worked there as Assistant Engineer up to 2007.In CAD, I formed Pani Panchayats in canal Irrigated Area & executed micro field channels with drains through the Pani Panc hayats.In 2007, I again got transferred to Office of the Executive Engineer,Central Zone, Bhubaneswar & worked there as Designer cum estimator.My work was E-tendering & execution of office buildings,godowns,threshing floors,ponds etc.I again joined Water Resources Department on promotion as Executive Engineer,CAD,Bhadrak on dated 13.06.14.Then I served Directorate of Soil Conservation as Executive Engineer from 3.3.15 to 11.03.19 & remained in charge of Pradhanmantri Krushi Sinchai Yojana(PMKSY) cell at Rajib Bhawan,Odisha Secretariat.Then I joined Hirakud CADA,Sambalpur on promotion as Project Director,Technical in the rank of Superintending Engineer.Finally I retired from Government Service on 30.06.21 from Sambalpur.In the month of July,2021, I made my own blog on Agricultural Engineering describing my 38 years service experience there.During my service career,I have received training from 10 reputed state & national institutes like(1) WALMI,Odisha(2)ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar (3)ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering,Bhopal,MP(4)ICAR-Tractor Training & Testing Center,Budni,MP(5)ICAR-North Eastern Regional Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute,Biswanath Cheriyali, Assam (6)National Institute of Rural Development,Hyderabad(7)MANAGE,Hyderabad(8)National Institute of Agricultural Marketing,Joypur, Rajasthan (9)Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (10) Gopabandhu Academy of Adminstration, Bhubaneswar.I have also visited four foreign countries- Thailand,HongKong,Macau,Dubai.

 The meaning of water management is optimization of watering a crop as per it's requirement.In coming years we are going to face water stress in many parts of the world where as  to feed the growing population, cultivable land needs to be  increased along with water requirement for Agriculture. Therefore we are to control water while irrigating a crop. We should not allow water for deep percolation and drainage rather supply water up to root zone depth of a crop. We are to harvest each drop of rain water & prohibit it to drain to river & ocean. For example Rice consumes about 4,000 - 5,000 litres of water per kg of grain produced & It takes about  1500 litres  of water to produce 1 kilogram of wheat.
