Employment of Agril Engineers in Agriculture Department,Govt of Odisha

 The cadre strength of Agricultural Engineers in Odisha is 450.Out of which 2 posts are  Chief Engineers, 11 posts are Superintending Engineers,52 posts are Executive Engineers,110 posts are Assistant Executive Engineers,275 posts are Assistant Agricultural Engineers.




Besides the above, Agricultural Engineers serve in Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation(OLIC), Directorate of Ground Water Development, Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA),Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) etc.

 The meaning of water management is optimization of watering a crop as per it's requirement.In coming years we are going to face water stress in many parts of the world where as  to feed the growing population, cultivable land needs to be  increased along with water requirement for Agriculture. Therefore we are to control water while irrigating a crop. We should not allow water for deep percolation and drainage rather supply water up to root zone depth of a crop.
